Every GEO rolling tip is meant to be quick to change: it plugs into a holder that screws into the end of the IO cane, so you can take the tip off and put it back on with a bit of force or a few turns whenever you like. FIX does not change that. It is an optional securing device that firmly connects the GEO to the IO cane and prevents the rolling tip from releasing on its own, spontaneously or by accident. The cane works perfectly well without FIX; this is simply an extra layer of security that some users prefer, for example if they do not want to think about the tip at all.
