Push a probe into the meat, set the temperature you are aiming for, and the thermometer tracks the reading and tells you when it has been reached. Paired with the IKONN Controller or the myIKONN app, both the running temperature and the alert are spoken in your own language. The base unit takes up to three probes at once, into sockets marked 1, 2 and 3 down the left edge, and each probe can carry its own target. That is how you cook a joint and two side dishes to different finish temperatures in the same oven without opening the door to check, or run two probes into different parts of a large bird.
