Paired with the IKONN Controller or the myIKONN app, every reading is spoken in your own language as it settles, so you can pour flour with one hand and listen rather than bending over a display. Two round metal buttons flank the screen, UNIT on the left and power over TARE on the right. Both are raised well clear of the deck, which sounds like a small thing until you have hunted for a flush capacitive pad with wet fingers. Tare is the button that matters most in real cooking: put the bowl on, press it, and the scale goes back to zero so the next ingredient is weighed on its own. You can do a whole recipe in one bowl that way, without ever emptying it or doing arithmetic. Four units are available. Grams and ounces cover dry goods; millilitres and fluid ounces let the scale work as a measuring jug, which is genuinely easier than reading a jug at eye level.
