Product Information
Eye-pass is a small handheld device, about the size of a TV remote. You sweep it by hand the way a sighted person sweeps a torch, and it turns the distance to whatever is in front of you into continuous stereo sound. There is no speech and no scene description, so the perception is immediate. Think of it as an elastic, invisible white cane that reaches up to 10 metres. Use it to find a doorway along a corridor, sense an obstacle at head height, judge the height of a ceiling, tell how many people are in a room, or find a bottle on a table. Walls and open space become clear in the first minutes, and finer perception comes with practice. Eye-pass does not identify objects, read text or describe scenes, and it does not replace the white cane or mobility training. It gives you the raw spatial information and you decide what it means. It comes with bone conduction headphones that leave your ears open, so you never lose the sounds around you. In the box: Eye-pass device, bone conduction headphones, USB-C charging cable and quick start card. Specifications Measuring range: 1 cm to 10 m Sensors: 2 next-generation LiDAR sensors, laser Class 1 (IEC 60825-1), eye-safe Output latency: 5 ms Audio output: bone conduction headphones (wired) or built-in speakers Weight: 90 g Battery life: 12 to 20 hours, depending on use Charging: USB-C Manufacturer: Sound Reasoning GmbH, Karlsruhe, Germany Accessibility Operated with a single button and a volume wheel, with no touchscreen and no visual interface required. No companion app, no account and no setup. Audio output via bone conduction, leaving both ears free for ambient sound. Full manual available in 24 languages, as accessible hypertext and audio. Usable regardless of first language, since the output is sound and not speech.
